Integration with Other Plant Design Software

PlantWise users have several choices for transferring data into other plant design software. The highly flexible PlantWise Report Writer allows users to easily extract and format data suitable for importing into other software. Also, the AutoRouter™ Pipe Route Export provides a complete set of data for piping centerlines and components from which users have written their own translation routines for products such as PASCE, PDS, and PDMS. To complement those generic interface capabilities, Design Power provides several solutions specifically for Intergraph plant design products, including the following.

SmartPlant Review

SmartPlant Viewer

The "Export to DR/SPV" menu option in PlantWise generates a MicroStation drawing file and an associated label file (.drv). With those files, a DR/SPV user can walk through a PlantWise model and see attribute information about selected components during the walk-through. Furthermore, the attribute information displayed for each component is user-customizable via the PlantWise Report Writer.

FrameWorks Plus

Report Writer

Structural members are output through a user-modifiable Report Writer template in the PML input file format that is readable by FrameWorks Plus.

PDS Piping

Report Writer

Data about piping centerlines and components generated by AutoRouter is output in the APL format used by PDS's ModelBuilder. Users may select a list of pipes to export and supply mappings between PlantWise and PDS pipe classes and components.
