Rebis and Design Power Develop Integrated Conceptual Engineering System for Toyo Engineering Corporation
Integrated conceptual engineering system combines Rebis' 2D and 3D plant design and modeling applications with Design Power's Plant Builder and AutoRouter
Houston, TX, January 25, 1999 - Rebis®, the market leader in plant design and management software, and Design Power, the leading supplier of Intelligent Design Systems, announced today at Daratech development of an integrated conceptual engineering system for Toyo Engineering Corporation. This system combines Rebis' 2D and 3D plant design and modeling applications with Design Power's Plant Builder and AutoRouter.
The integrated conceptual engineering system which Rebis and Design Power have jointly developed will allow spatial plant design, fully consistent with the governing process design documents, in a compressed time frame. In addition to the cost savings associated with a compressed design time, a significant benefit of this approach is the ability to review alternative design concepts early in a project, allowing buy-in from the design team, project management, and the client.
"The system greatly helps a front-end design team to validate visually their design in a short time reflecting complex and various project requirements", states Mr. Yoichi Nishi, Process CAD/CAE Manager for Toyo Engineering Corporation. "As a result, early freezing of spatial design at front-end brings efficient collaboration with world-wide detail engineering contractors."
This system uses Rebis' P&ID application to create the governing process design document. Site plot plan information reflecting equipment and structures is then combined with this process information and used as input to the Design Power AutoRouter application. Design Power's AutoRouter can then be used to automatically generate optimized centerline routes for each line. Once optimized centerline routes are established Rebis' AutoPLANT 97 piping application will be used to populate the centerlines and perform detailed design.
Rebis, the largest supplier of PC plant design solutions in the world, measured by its installed base of more than 50,000 products, is committed to providing quality workgroup software for plant design and management.
